J/30 Class Association Forums J/30 Forum The Boat, Sails and Equipment Autopilot and Silva Instruments

I am interested in connecting a Silva instrument package with a tiller pilot of some sort. I know that, at least in theory, these things can talk to each other via NMEA. Does anyone have any experience with this? Is it practical?
