John, thanks for your work with Idasailor. I am going to give them a call today about the Optimized rudder. I had my OD rudder reparied by A&B in Annapolis this summer. I would love a rudder with corrected balance; sick of the weather helm. I believe I will place an order. This will give me both rudders and a lot more satisfaction cruising.

There is another supplier for the mast and boom as I understand it - remember, this boat is old and the focus is swinging quickly to the newer classes so while purity of the breed should be maintained, the breed is waning.
The builder is taking a risk that he will garner our business as a class as he has with others and feels that if he provides a quality rudder at a good price then he will recoup his tooling and design costs. I like his attitude and feel very comfortable with his ability.
