Blue Meanie is planning on making the trip up from Perth Amboy. (I'm speaking for Steve since he is on vacation this week and next, stuck on some island in maine that barely has electricty.)

Six boats from fleet four converged on Larchmont last weekend for the
J/30 Class' 6th sucessive appearence at the Larchmont NOOD. We had three
boats from Cedar Point, Laser Beam, Smiles, and Youthful Indiscretion.
Blue Meanie came up from Raritan, Excalibur and Pale Rider from City
Island.

Despite decidely difficult winds on Saturday, the RC got off two races,
and on Sunday, with better breezes, they managed three, even with a last
start time limit of 2:30 pm. John McArthur cranked out four bullets and
a second on Smiles, although Eric Robbins/Halsey Bulen on Laser Beam
got past them once, and followed Smiles across the line by inches in
another race. After pulling two thirds on Saturday, Steve Buzbee and
Blue Meanie stepped up their game, adding two seconds to their tally.
Laser beam took a second in the fifth race to hang on to second place.

There was plenty of competition behind the top boats. Pale Rider
traded fnishes with Youthul Indiscretion up and back on Sunday, as well
as a hotly contested final run on the second race Saturday. (We were
overlapped at least six times on the 1 mile leg, and Stefan Jans and
his team never stopped attacking, making for a great way to end a day
of racing) Charlie Hurd's Excalibur rounded out the competitive fleet.

For everyone who came out and joined us, thanks, and well done! For everyone who didn't, you missed a great regatta, I hope we'll see you next year.
