Picking up from where Dennis has led us, I am in contact with the S2 9.1 sailors who are in the same boat we are; they can't quite field a One Design fleet all in one place.
In conjunction with the 9.1's we would be able to do the same schedule together and race level. Proposed schedule might be NOODs, South Haven, Holland, VerveCup, Muskegon Governors Cup.
Please weigh in.
Thanks, Dell Todd

Personally, I don't mind racing level against the 9.1s... but you might want to ask the other Lake Mich J/30 peoples.
LMPHRF rates them 6 seconds faster than us (132 v 138)

Thats good input Dennis. I had envisioned level racing. We could also consider a PHRF or MORC or MORF handicap trophy in addition to level racing being the primary trophy.

There will be a meeting of any interested J/30 and S2 9.1 owners at Stictly Sail on Saturday January 29 at 12:00 noon CST in room 323.
The main topic will be putting together a group of regattas for the upcoming season.

2 J/30s made it to the Verve Cup this year.
In the head to head competition, Awesome beat Planxty in 3 races. Planxty beat Awesome in 3. A tie.
There was 1 9.1, a J/27, Laser, and Sabre 36. The J/27 walked away with 6 bullets. I don't think sailing handicap would have changed the overall results much.
