At the 5 August 2010 BOG meeting, the class leadership reviewed proposals from three sources to produce class flags in two colors - red and blue. The approved price was $60 per flag plus shipping. We will be taking orders until we reach a quantity of 20-25 before ordering from the flag provider. Please click here to contact Dave Erwin if you are interested in a class flag. We will provide payment details with the applicable shipping costs once we have sufficient quantity. The official class specifications are outlined below: - Material - Marine Grade Nylon (fade resistant and water repellent)
- Color - solid background Red or Blue with J/30 Logo in white contrasting the background.
- Dimensions - 61"x28"x65"x47" Raked Rectangle
- Edge Finish - All edges folded over and sewn, or heat sealed to prevent fraying
- Halyard Attachment - Edge by halyard reinforced and either grommets or sewn in loops top and bottom for halyard attachment

I wanted to give everyone a quick update. So far we have 18 orders for blue flags and 14 orders for red flags. If you want a flag, please let us know ASAP so we can meet the minimum order of 20 each.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS! Dave@j30.us

Hey - flags are flying off the shelves!
I need someone to order a flag to test out the new payment module installed on the store on 26 January. Pay via PayPal, Credit Card or Debit card. The online store now accepts Visa, MC, Discover, and Amex.
Send me a PM and let me know how it works.

Great Michael! You ordered it at 12:25 on 24 January and you received it on the 4th day. Pretty good service from Neil and Benz I'd say. Did you get status messages for the following from the J/30 store? 1. Your order was placed - should have received an invoice with attached pdf file to print if desired. 2. Notification that your payment was received 3. Notification when order was shipped.
The first two should occur automatically based on a person placing the order, and either PayPal or Credit Card payment. It's manual if someone sends me a check.
The last message get triggered by Neil manually when he ships the flag.

Thanks Vic - We got your order and xferred the funds to North Sails. Neil should see it when he goes to work tomorrow.
I spoke to Dave about a long term upgrade so that the Forum login will also work on the store. They are two completely separate S/W applications so it isn't a trivial matter to pass the login credentials back and forth. Someday we'll get it figured out though....

Who is in control of the Store? The class or Neil? If it is the class, can we process our dues through there?

Who is in control of the Store? The class or Neil? If it is the class, can we process our dues through there? Tha answer is the J/30 Class is in control of the store. We transfer funds via PayPal to North Sails for the flags, and North Sails processes the flag order. The J/30 Store uses the same PayPal account that is used to collect J/30 Class Dues. You can use a credit card to pay class dues without having a PayPal account. I just resent the link to you.
