J/30 Class Association Forums J/30 Forum Events and Scheduling Larchmont NOOD, Sept 7,8,9

Time to get entires in for the Larchmont NOOD. Now expanded to three days of racing, this should provide excellent racing. The last two years have featured good courses and tight racing, and I expect the same this year.

The Larchmont NOOD (and J/30 East Coast
Championship) was one of the best regatta's
I've attended in years. We had eight J/30s,
seven races, steady breeze and great competition. Joe McCann's "Paddy Wagon"
ground down John McArthur's first day
lead to take first, with John's "Smiles" in
a solid second, followed by Ed Austin's "Chinook" in third.

The Sailing World folks, and Larchmont YC's
Race Committee ran a superb series. We had
square lines, good courses, and incredibly
crisp execution from the RC, handling a seven class, 75 boat starting circle with elan and style. Mother nature helped out, providing three days of bright sunshine, and (after some coaxing on Sunday) three sucessive days
of moderate southwesterlies for racing.
