John, You big SOB! I couldn't figure out why you were avoiding me this past weekend and it just came to me...

What happened to that bottle of rum you promised??? I had to impose on Neil's (From Blue Meanie) hospitality to get my rum allotment after the races.

There will be hell to pay for this one...

yeah....well I have to take Meanie's swim team back to the Virgins to REPLACE that bottle of rum. Good thing monkeyboy is such a great sport

Seems to me G. has developed a taste for the finer things-Balvenie for instance? But it's a lot more fun to restock rum in the Virgins than Scotch in the Highlands.

Oh, I don't know. There's a lot to be said for a detailed survey of the possible single malt choices. One can spend a delightful week or two making sure to check out all of speyside, Islay and the Highlands. Of course, having selected a few proper drams, one would just have to work one's way down the leewards, doing proper comparisons to the various rums, not to mention working the dank of Scotland out of one's bones. Shame it's a little unsettled to include a stop at Barbancourt in Haiti in the rhum tasting tour.

I believe the single malt only came out after we had finished the rum. Everything in it's time.

I'll tell you what... "new" friends came out of the woodwork once that Balvenie hit the table... and I'm glad they did.

I definitely like DWL's line of drinking ... er ... I mean ... line of thinking! Sounds like he's had some experience.

Personally, I was born in Scotland and emigrated to the States when I was a young boy. NEVER drank Scotch all my life until I was sitting at a bar on the Isle of Skye last summer. And as they say, the rest is history. Personal favourites ... Lagavulin, Laphroaig, Caol Ila, and of course, Balvenie

What's a guy named O'Neil doing living in Scotland? Like, aren't you supposed be from a lttle further west?

My favorite-Macallan 18.
