J/30 fleet four and Cedar Point Yacht Club invite you to join us at the 2002 J/30 North Americans. September 12-15, at Cedar Point Yacht Club in Westport CT. We're antipating that the Larchmont NOOD will be held the weekend previous, 20 miles west, in Larchmont NY. This event has had a J/30 one design start since its inception, and, as a short course, one design focused regatta, would provide an ideal tune up for the NAs. Cedar Point is not all that far from NY Harbor (considering where some of us come from). Any thought of incorporating the following (from Scuttlebutt #946) into the festivities?

* September 14, 2002: Operation Sail America, Manhattan YC. One year
after the tragic events of September 11, MYC would like to fill New York
Harbor with sails - to have the greatest gathering of sailboats ever in the
history of the harbor. This would be a symbolic rebirth for the City of New
York and a tribute to the soaring spirit of America. - Michael Fortenbaugh,
