That makes more sense. PHRF didn't change your rating. But only in the world of PHRF would it be correct to continue to call your rating 'one-design'.

The J/30 Class rules make no mention of symmetry. But without leech, luff, and girth measurements, it's hard to say if it would measure in.

Update: Sailmaker from North advises me the Melges 24 PZ2 luff is 1m longer than J/30 rule and the SMG (Spinnaker Mid Girth) is 5.85m.

A friend just gave me an old one of these spinnakers. I can't wait to try it! (Perhaps tomorrow, since not too much wind is forecast).

Will try all of the above ways of flying it!
