Santa is promising to bring some electronics this year. I had a Tacktick Race Master on my previous boat with the addition of speed (and depth which didn't seem to work reliably). My default is to replace that, but anyone else aware of better systems. I didn't have any wind sensors. People think they're worth it?

In my opinion, the only really essential electronics are a good digital compass, speed, and depth. I used to have integrated speed, apparent and true wind etc.-I think they were just a distraction. I actually only have GPS speed on my boat-I wish I had speed over the water...

A nice stereo with cockpit speakers are also nice Mike :-)

Well Santa came early and this cold Sunday night has been spent simulating situations with my new Tacktick.

In the last simulation, Blue Meanie slightly outpointed us, but we tacked and gybed more effectively and beat them. Presto was close behind. Thetis, recently returned to racing again in our fleet was toast.
