Hi guys and gals, does anyone have any experience or advice on installing a rigid boom vang on the mighty J30 including what vang manufacturer? thanks Dan #409

Hi Dan I have had an Seldon 10 S solid rod kicker on Judicious for the last 15 years without any problems.

I have decided on a Garhauer rigid boom vang RV-20-1. Mark, their fabrication tech, has been very helpful in getting this project done. Taking the attach plate off the mast was little bit of a chore but doable. Boom will have a new attach point and the old rope vang attach point will be left as a preventer attach point. Garhauer custom makes the mast and boom attach plates. v/r Dan #409
