Clint, this may be a dumb question, but does your mast have a cap? Some are fixed, others removeable with screws.

My mast has a cap. It is attached with two machine screws. Last week end it rained a lot and my mast did not leak at all. then it started blowing and the water seemed to be coming through the spartite joint. I guess I did not seal it this year thinking the boot and metal flashing would seal it enough.
