As an ex-J30 sailor it is interesting to see the various posts.

If you want rain free sailing, come to the NW. Our Etchells fleet has finished it's spring series (we started in March) and is half way thru the summer series. We occassionaly get some mist, but only missed one day of sailing - way too much wind. See the feature article in the June 2006 "Sailing" magazine.

David, I'll try to look you up in Newport or Bermuda. There's a J30 Team Swan 391 doing the race this year, "Fat City Too", with J30 sailors racing From Fat City and Smiles from LIS and from Planxty/Circus from Chicago. I hear the skipper from Planxty is already whinng because he lost some crew for the Chicago NOOD.

Good to see you're still racing. I expect you've been teaching the Etchells fleet there a thing or 2.

I will be easy to find. I am on Amigo VI and we are stern to stern with Fat City Too at the RBYC. I saw the berth arrangements for the docks in Bermuda.

We should try to hook up at the Dark & Stormy party on Wed. I will have a blue J/30 hat on.

So we have NE and PNW calling in the sailing weather. What about some of our Southerners? It's got to be nice and warm down there. Let's hear it.

On the Ches Bay, 18-22 with gusts to 26 for the Ted Osius this past Saturday. Upper teens for Twilight last week, (but missed it for college reunion). In fact pretty good all season starting with upper teens Friday, then 8-15 for remainder of the NOOD at the end of April.

Only had one drifter for Wed nights, which saw the largest mark pile up in the history of the Severn River-60 boats bow-to-stern, rail-to-rail at the mark--and even that one finished.

Looks like J/30 weather for the Chicago NOOD this year. No one-design class, but we'll still have fun.

I hope by now your weather has improved, but we had a pretty nice spring here in the NW. I did the Oregon Offshore and Swiftsure and we didn't even get snowed on this time. Actually, Swiftsure was warm & nice but more "Driftsure" than I've seen in the past.
