June 7th and I have sailed 3 times! The weather this year here in New England is the worst I have seen. Someone please remind me what it is like to sail a J/30.

Wet. It's very Wet. Well, at least to judge from the fleet four districts, especially Saturday. Nothing like a facefull of rain everytime you try to look at the upper tell tales while driving. At least downwind, the boom was dumping all the water off the main into the sound, not onto me.

It has been a bit of a damp stretch, hasn't it. (We just lost a wed. night beer can to the same weather that's bothering you, I suspsect)

Yes ours got canceled also. Last week it was no wind. Weekend races cancelled, wed. night cancelled , Red Sox / Yankees cancelled. Boring stuff up here in NE. I should take up swimming.

Very wet indeed. On Blue Meanie we had the dubious honor of playing 'Team New Zealand' Saturday at Cedar Point. Heeling over, rain pouring off the main resulted in water puddling between the cockpit seat and combing. 16 oz plastic cups make great bailers!

Got the boat home from LIS yesterday just in time for the race. 25-30 knots in rain, crew of 6, missing our bowman so our mast moved up to bow for the first time. Spin for first run with one ugly gybe, wing -and-wing with the #3 for second didn't cost us anything on second, shorter run. Pulled out a second place.

7 straight days of rain. Only 33 more to go. Can a J/30 do double duty as an ark?

Hmm an ark. I am wondering how that would look.

I think it ruins the lines.

Geez guys, do they really cancel races where you are 'cause of a little rain?

Anybody have a battery powered dehumidifier I can borrow?

Well Wednesday, the 1/4 mile visibility in the sound and the gusts past 25 might have had something to do with it. 'tis our beercan series after all.

I think it was because the race committee did not want to get their wine and cheese wet on a Wed. night. There was still quite a turnout of sailors at the bar.

It's OK I am leaving next Friday on the Newport to Bermuda race on a J/42 so I will have plenty of sailing in, just not on my J boat.
