J/30 Class Association Forums J/30 Forum The Boat, Sails and Equipment Ancient Shrouds, Turnbuckles

We replaced our lowers and uppers this spring, so I know have four neatly coiled stainless steel snakes. I can't imagine why I'd want to keep them, anyone got any reason to keep quarter century old shrouds around?

Anyone have any use for them, including four 1979 vintage turnbuckles? Let me know, we can arrange something. (Unless someone tells me that storing old shrouds under one's bed is *the* secret to eternal youth, and provides some convicing evidence)

I haven't measured them yet to see if they'll fit, but when my lifelines need replacing, I may use my old uppers and lowers to replace the lifelines. Uncoated lifelines appear to be the new fashion. They're thicker stronger and you can see when they're rusting.
