Recently installed Harken windward sheeting system on our J30. What is the preferred method of rigging the control lines. Right now we have 4:1 setup with contiuous line. We noticed that the 5/16" line falls in the forward groove created by the track and gets runover by the car as you let the traveler down. Any comments appreciated. I filled in the space where the old traveller track used to sit with teak so it is flush with the surrounding deck. I placed the new track on top of the teak. This keeps the lines from jamming the car. Other people have filled the gap with other materials.

When I lower down the traveler, I just keep the the tail (loop) fairly tight by using my hand as a tensioner. This forces the leeward end of the traveler control line to feed out and stay out of the way. Not as fancy as filling in the void, but a heck of a lot easier and cheaper!
