They used Awlgrip.

These guys do really good work. Bring your J/30 down here during the winter for repairs.

To give everyone an update on the progress of Rampage, Hull # 87, we have finished painting the hull and bottom with Intralux 2000e barrier (silver in color). Here is a before photo:

Here is a photo after the hull was painted on Tuesday using AwlGrip Stark White. We will be painting the areas around the window next week.

One more photo of Dave after sanding on a 1979 model J/30 for over 150 hours.

Seriously, Sintes Boat Works did a great job on the J/30. I would recommend them to anyone - especially those up North who are paying $$$ for storage when they could be upgrading or maintaining.

A quick Rampage update:

Da mast has been painted.

Da rebuilt prop, new shaft and new stuffing box has been installed.

Da man is sanding every night until da deck is painted.

Da new Harkin traveler and track has been ordered.

Da light is at da end of da tunnel.

Have any of you disected your deck around the chain plate? Rampage Hull # 87 wasn't sealed very well, so here is what she looked like:

Looks awesome! Did you use Airex for the recore around the chaniplates? I went back to balsa and in retrospect almost wished I hadn't. When I re-did my becks I had Schooner Creek Boatworks here in Portland spray them with an LP paint using the Interlux nonskid and it works great. I wrapped the nonskid texture down over the edges of the cabintop about 3/4" and my crew loves it, especially offshore!
Congrats on a job well done (well...nearly done).
Doug.

Here are some photos taken yesterday. We have primed the deck with AwlGrip expoxy based paint on hull # 87. The light at the end of the tunnel is a little brighter.
