I'm sure that Shawn Ivie, our California Governor has had many things to do to get ready, so maybe he forgot to let you all know. They start on 4/5/10 PacCup; SF to Kaneohe, Hawaii. How many others are crazy enough to cross the Pacific in a J30? I don't know of any, except on freight transfer. They have been prepping all year, so Aloha, go fast and try not to break the boat.... PS When I get a confirmation of email and tracking I'll post so we can play armchair tactics....

With a little luck and good weather they should be competitive, We did Newport Oregon to Kona in 18 days last year without pushing too hard.

This is what I love to hear! I got some funny looks when I mentioned the Vic-Maui in a J/30. My sights are set on the Van Isle 360 for now but I don't think my pocket book will permit the prep

Shawn started a blog before he left at this link with some boat preps. Good luck Friction Loss! Looks like good progress on the tracker after the 1st day with a second place position in Class A. http://www.ionearth.com/2010/pacific-cup/ - Boat Tracker Website - select Class A.

Depending on the conditions the Wyliecat 30 may be tough to beat.
