Having been reassured of the strength of the stanchion bases I proceeded to rig up a set of spinnaker sheet twings. I lashed a block to the base of the stanchion just aft of the mast and another to the stanchion that is inline with the cockpit bulk head, this set up keeps the twing line close to the toe rail so it is not under foot. From the aft block the line runs across the side deck to a cam cleat that I mounted onto the lead car track (no holes in deck)at it's aft end. The set up looks good, we'll see how the road test goes.
