So the One Design Regatta committee met back on February 19th to continue hashing out the details for the 2011 edition of the regatta. All in all the meeting led to lots of good developments which we think will help to make the regatta an even greater success in 2011. One of the big developments for the J/30 Class is that we've fixed the fee for using the 5 ton hoist to launch/haul and service your mast at $50 dollars for the whole regatta. This is good news for any out of town boats who were considering racing and wanted to come by land. We also want to show racers a better time on shore after sailing so instead of an expensive Lobster dinner there'll be an included barbecue on the lawn of the club (along with beer of course!!!) after racing on Saturday.

The sailing was good with 6 boats last year but it would be even better with a few more so if you did the regatta in 2010, missed out on a few years or just thought it looked like a fun event we would love to have you come sail!! The more J/30's on the line the better the racing will be which means more fun!! If nothing else I selfishly want the racing to be better in the class where I'll be sailing, who wouldn't?

The entry form, NOR and preliminary SI's went live a few days ago and they can be found here: www.tinyurl.com/CedarPointODR . The website also has driving directions to the club, deals on local hotels, a list of the current entries and a directory of our GREAT sponsors who are also helping to make the regatta awesome for you.

We've been working hard on the event all winter and hope that everyone has even more fun when June rolls around. Any questions can be forwarded on to the official event contact at cpycord@gmail.com.

See you on the water!
