Last Sping I decided to tacle my leaking toe rails, which were indicated by black stains on the teak liner in the cabinets. first I removed the bungs from one toe rail to expose the screw heads, so I could hold the screws and remove the nuts on the inside. The nuts finally came off, but there was no way to get the bolts out without destrying the rails (5200 anyone?).
I replaced the bungs and Cetoled the rails and then ran a bead of UV resistant 3m 4200 around all of the rails, fairing the stuff with a finger. Oh yeah, All of the rails were masked with blue masking tape. This process was made much easier by doing it while the boat was on jackstands, working from a ladder.
Result: no more hull to deck leaks of any kind for a year now. The white 4200 is still in good shape. After inspecting a friend's new Sabre, it appears the use a similar
tecnique.
