I guess you answered half of your question yourself .....
its gonna be a drag if under 6 or 7 knots, especially downwind, get ready for some interesting fights with MacGregor 26 s ( not the motorboat, the old ones with waterballast, which they conviently drop on a donwind course and raise their 6 foot !!! centerboard )

my roller furler Jib is a 155 and I wish I had more sail on the downwind in most regattas.... On the bigger events at our lake they dont give you credit for roller furlers .... I have no idea what they do in our club as there are some boats who really want a lot of different credits, in order to make them competiitve....( or at least they think )

On a different note. Our SPI is longer than J. I am not racing Spinnaker. Just a little weary that one of these days I get protested.... Which doesnt make any sense as most of the other boats have adjustable whisker poles which are WAY longer than J.
Any ideas how this is usually handled ?
