I've drawn a little diagram and a table with some proposed options with different mechanical advantages. There is nothing exotic, and until I can take some measurements on the boat, I'm not sure if the concept will work. I've already got a padeye where the existing 8:1 single ended adjuster is connected on the stbd side just outboard of the engine vents. I would just add another padeye to the port side. Check out the drawing below and the table and see if anyone has a setup like this that works. I'm interested on how the transition is made from the bail to the line running on the bottom of the cockpit.
