When I went to buy a Spartite kit today, they said that a minimum thickness of 1/2 inch is required for the entire circumference of the mast. We step our mast at the absolute back of the hole in the deck, as per the tuning guide, which meams that there will not be a complete "ring" of Spartite. Has this been a problem for others, or have you moved the mast forward in the partners to allow room for Spartite on the aft edge of the mast as well?
Do I need the large or small kit, and I assume I want the "racing", not the "cruising" version. (I didn't know there was a difference)
