Here's some pictures of a "Failed" J30 rudder from IdaSailor. IdaSailor made as rudder for me last year. Most of the J30 rudders I have checked out are in the 70 to 80 pound range "Wet". IdaSailor's rudder I purchase was 40#.

Bill, I talked with Joel at Ida Sailor and he thinks it would be easy to make the new rudder weigh around 55-65#.

sorry for the delay, had to dig the rudder pieces out from under a pile of other broken blades.
Weight for both pieces is 53 lbs.
