Thanks John. If I understand correctly, if you sailed a course in our hour, you'd need to be within 64 seconds of the J/29 in order to win. Regardless of the distance.

I race (among others) the following types of boats, that you may know.
J29 (fract rig i/b engine) rating 0.942 (or 65 seconds an hour).
X332 rating 0.990 (or 238 seconds an hour).
X362 rating 1.029 (or 378 seconds an hour).
Sigma 33 rating 0.927 (or 11 seconds per hour).
First class 8 0.916 (we give it 29 seconds per hour)

We have had 2 firsts and one second so far this season so I guess the rating is OK.
