J/30 Class Association Forums J/30 Forum The Boat, Sails and Equipment How much does a J/30 weigh

I found out that Lake Ontario PHRF has not measured the weight of the boat, but uses 7,200 lbs. as a standard weight. Take a couple of your sails off and that seems to be about right. Unfortunately it seems like the J/30 may be like a lot of other boats that weigh more than the designers hoped for when they came out with the specifications.
I was hoping someone would say 6,500 lbs.
How did you weigh the boat? was it from the crane's load cell when hanging?
