Hi Marty, I thought you may have sold Limelight, but I ran into one of your crew (O'Day 25) last week at Thetis Island, he said you "invested" in a nice upgrade in equipment. Racing isn't in the cards, at least not for the forseeable future. We are living in Honeymoon Bay, 45 minutes from the boat, and all our old crew are in Victoria. The boat is at Maple Bay marina and is now called "Gracie". If your up this way check her out. Maybe racing on Limelight had some subliminal effect on my thought process, when it came to boat shopping. Chat soon, Cheers

Welcome! I didn't even realize Brad had Rowdy J for sale! Did he buy a new main for it? He had planned on it.
Hmmm, Maple Bay. Maybe we should all look at Maple Bay Regatta next year for the "British Columbia J/30 Championships"
Vampire Radiant Heat Limelight Natural High Gracie
And maybe we can wrangle an appearance by Red Five to round out the field at 6.

With this kind of notice I might be able to plan for that. Could be really fun.

Racing wasn't in the cards, but Maple Bay regatta 2011 with a J30 Class of it's own.........tempting, especially since the boat is moored at Maple Bay marina.

Natural High, sorry for the slow response....Brad didn't purchase a new main. The one on the boat is in good shape, probably a couple of years old.

It was probably because he couldn't offload his old one off on me. He was trying hard. :P

How did I miss this thread?
Welcome. just a bit slow over here.
we should call it fleet Lime Lite.
Sailing on Lime light 20years ago told me it was the right boat for me. And here we are now with a fun fleet.
there are three really fun races in your area that we would love to get a class out for. and they are not your typical hard core races. they are family lets go have fun races.
1. Round Saltspring 2. Vandee Salt Spring (double handed but bring kids if you want. And its run by your club this year. great time. 3. Your regatta.
and if you want a bit more spice as you have a great boat. Patos island race. and Swift sure.
lots of fun. I will be over to your club twice this year for the Regatta and the Vendee
Hope to say Hi and we can share a drink and talk about sailing on Lime light.

Here's my situation. I sold my last boat about two years ago when I moved inland. We had raced her and other previous boats in Patos, Swiftsure, Round Saltspring, VanIsle etc., we didn't think we would be buying another boat, but...surprise, old habits are hard to break. Last August we bought Gracie (ex. Rowdy) on the agreement we would not get back into racing. This may change, and if it does we will need to develope new crew (our past crew all live 1 1/2 hours away in Victoria), get the boat measured/rated and possibly add to the sail inventory. We actually just officially joined MBYC about a week ago. If I'm around, which I predict I will be I will look for you at the regatta and/or Vendee Saltspring.
