What are the dimensions of a class legal spin. pole? The pole I have has poorly installed end fittings, and a bit of a sketchy bridle arrangement, and I'm not sure if it is legal or not. Last question, in the event this pole is not salvageable does anyone have a good one for sale and if so how much?

Here is a link to the Frequently Used Measurements page on this site. Posting to this 'Pacific NW Dist' forum only reaches those of us within the district. Posting to the general forum will widen your potential response.

Thanks for the link. The reason I restricted my enquiry about a used spin. pole to the N.W. was economically driven, I wouldn't want to pay more for shipping (from the east coast for example) than a pole is worth. Thanks again.

If your ends are class legal then just buy some aluminum stock tube and build yourself a new one. You can also build your own bridle.

The pole is legal in terms of it's length, but the piston style ends fittings are both different, the bridles are crudely attached and the pole itself is badly corroded in areas. I have re-riveted one of the wobblier end fittings and tidied up the bridles. The pole will do for awhile but it's days are numbered.

Back to your original question if the pole was class legal. The J/30 Class Rules, section 5.11 and sub-paragraphs list the requirements that you can check it against. Basic physical dimensions, materiel and end fitting types are specified. The bridal requirements were dropped in a 2005 rules update, so whatever you have should be ok.
