I just saw the following listing of a J/30 for sale as insurance salvage, located in Chalfont, PA. The hull number is listed as VIN: TSP0027xxxxx

I think this could be Triple Play, Hull 271 - can anyone confirm what boat this is?

I think that is Triple Play. Ny registration and the damage is exactly where I remember it was.

Her delivery crew hit the well charted rock just outside of Cedar Point when delivering the boat to Westport for the 2009 NAs. Dennis Bartley, David Bows and others did a herculean effort trying to get the boat fixed when they met them at Cedar Point, but were unsuccessful in doing enough before the insurance surveyor showed up. It rocked the keel when hit.

As others have said, that is indeed Triple Play. I always wondered if they totaled her, guess so.

Attached are some photographs that I took before the damage was sealed up enough for her to be delivered (by water) down to Larchmont Yacht Club after the 2009 NA's. The first is of the damaged area and the second is the joint in the hull leading back from the hull-keel joint. The last is Triple Play hanging in the sling at CPYC before being put in the water after being "repaired".

Anyone interested in this boat should have the whole area checked over with a fine tooth comb by a surveyor (as you would anyways)
