Anybody have a good winterizing checklist that they've been using and would like to share?

Here is the one I use for White Dolphin (in Charleston, SC):

1) Bring 3-season sailing gloves and warmer foulies
2) Put window-unit air conditioner/dryer in storage

(sorry, couldn't help myself smile

Kevin - I have a periodic maintenance procedure posted on the Rhapsody Maintenance Procedures page on the Rhapsody web sites.

I also keep a spreadsheet with my working list that includes periodic maintenance (fall & spring tasks), ongoing projects and deferred projects. The current year list is attached. It has a tab that keeps a list of stuff I need to buy. I also record relevant sizes & part numbers here for future reference. Check the attached Excel file.

Bill, this is great thanks! As a huge fan of spreadsheets, I can certainly appreciate this. I've already started one logging expenses, crew, and uses. I've already got a want/need list broken out by priority and part numbers.... Great minds think alike....

Dan, Yes, but I'll be skiing fresh tracks this winter and not worrying about my boat!! wink The pains of sailing in northeast.

Kevin - for crew lists and schedule, there are some free websites out there to use. I use ttsail for Rhapsody available at https://www.ttsail.com/ as do a few other J/30s like Vee Jay, Blue Meanie and Avita.

There are other free sites such as
http://www.crewsignup.com/
http://us.crewintentions.com/index.asp
http://www.crew-control.com/

Others have tailored things like Yahoo groups http://groups.yahoo.com/
Google Calendar http://www.google.com/calendar/

and Shutterfly like this one http://tntj30sailboat.shutterfly.com/calendar

You could also do a private group on Facebook. All sorts of choices for crew management.

Over the years I've accumulated stacks of less than organized spreadsheets to track wind and weather for post race analysis, crew (plus weight), rig tune, sail usage, fleet participation, not to mention race results and season high point standings. A while ago I started trying to integrate wind, wave, crew, sail, tune, and results into one database but I only got as far as downloading wind. Didn't think to track maintenance, guess that's why I'm behind on it.
