Has anyone epoxy based painted a J/30 formica? If so, can you share tips?

I am started to rennovate my 30 year old boat below the deck. The yellow formica was populalar in the late 1970s - especially to a Green Bay fan!

Can't help with the paint but...
Don't know what your wood working capabilities are though it would seem fairly simple to cut out a new piece of formica and laminate on top of the hold one.
Make a paper drawing/template; transfer to a peice of 1/4 masonite to use as a cutting template. A router is pretty much all you would need. Some contact cement and a wooden roller and your in business.

I spilled AWLGRIP on my nav table formica and I still can't get it off. So....yea, it'll take paint.

I relaminated the whole boat as the old red formica was well used scratched etc.and i think that it will last a lot longer than paint.
