Dell,

I am looking to buy a new main next year and it will be dacron. I have both string and an old dacron (sharkskin). The two recuts later and the dacron is still going strong.

I vote for Dacron.

Scoreboard:

Dacron 6
Composite 1

I invite your ongoing input & discussion please in particular if you have yet to weigh in. Our district's vote seems solid for Dacron and I don't see that changing with 7 votes in, without many more votes on the sidelines. Safe to say nobody here would be upset with a Dacron vote.

FYI everyone in our District, our District is allowed one vote, thru the District Governor (myself at this time, at least until till impeachment proceedings!).

In our case, we have a Governor At Large who happens to sail in our district (Dennis Bartley). Governors At Large each are allowed one vote.

There are about 20 votes on the total list.

I'd like to stay with dacron - helps ensure a supply for those looking for less expensive sails.
