TWO days of the Marco Isl YC Winter Regatta cancelled because of high wind ... problem with setting up a course in the Gulf when gusty wind out of NW with short waves 4-7 ...is trying to keep the marks in place. This combined with a forecast of barely mid 50s and cloudy for the high of the day on Sunday ... did not bode well for the senior racers.

the video at higher res shows the paddle wheel speed as sustained mid 6 to 7.... and this is pounding through ~4-5fters ... Surfing is one thing ... cutting through is something else.
so ~ hull speed. I don't remember doing this before. That's the old blade from Daisy Cutter and standard #1 OD reef.

At noon @ 49 degrees today that area was 6-8, 25-30. with an average depth of 23 the waves from the NW are tight spaced. RC had cancelled at 7 am.
