I experienced some loss of power this weekend. It is time for some fuel maintenance. I have a few questions:

My Engine details to follow:
Model. 2QM15
14.Hp@3000
Prop 1400 rpm
2.14 reduction
Sr number. N2336
Block no. 84702

Can someone post a link to a current recommended Raycor filter/water separator?

Zephyr V2.0's issue we think is the bleed plug on top of the fuel filter housing. What are my chances of purchasing a new housing for a 30 year old engine? I will replace the copper gaskets. If so, what is the best source to purchase? Torrsen Marine or Labordes, etc...

What is the recommended diesel additive to prevent "the bug"?

My tank was cleaned 3 years ago. How often should we clean tanks?

Thanks!

120as ... change filter every 10 years ... where are you getting fuel. here in Naples they claim they have a bug killer in it.

#505 never had tank cleaned ... but off shore a lot of sloshing around. last year did find "thick goo mud" in bottom of plastic racor bowl ... keeping an eye out for it now.

parts for that motor should still be available easy. I had the ring holding the filter on ... crack. and the high pressure line spring a leak ... since 1984.

Putting monthly fuel in today ... realized that i use 3 drops of FPPF Killem per gallon. Bottle lasts forever. no idea if it really does anything. Inherited bottle with 526. but am using it on 505 here.

After experiencing numerous issues with air in the fuel line, I finally decided to remove everything between the tank and the engine last fall, for replacement this spring. What I found was a distorted gasket under one of the threaded plastic plugs in the Racor housing. Turns out a friend had a similar problem and replaced the plastic plugs with metal ones, available from a local Parker store (http://www.parker.com/portal/site/PARKER). His plastic plug had cracked, allowing air to enter the system.
I'm planning to buy a complete new filter body and install the metal plugs as well.
When it came time to pull the boat, I couldn't get the engine to run more than a few minutes. After bleeding, checking filters, etc., I decided to bypass the Racor temporarily, and it ran fine. That's what tipped me off.
Other items in my project include draining and wiping down the tank, removing & inspecting the pickup tube/shutoff valve (both already done), and replacing the hose.
