J/30 participants at the 2012 NA's in New Orleans have a unique opportunity for a great warm-up event: The J/Fest Southwest Regatta is held on the weekend before the NA's (10/13-14). If your boat is on a trailer headed for NO anyway, stop by Lakewood Yacht Club on Galveston Bay for the annual J/Fest event and fine tune your boat for the big event! If you're local, bring your boat over to LYC and race in one of the premier events in the region! J/Fest Southwest features complimentary launch and haul, great racing on the bay and a fantastic Saturday night party. More info at http://www.jfestsouthwest.com/. check out LYC at http://www.lakewoodyachtclub.com.

Put the event on your calendar and come on down!

Echoing what Al stated above! J/Fest Southwest has turned into a really nice event with several J/105's, and other big boats traveling in for it. We've noticed that there are a lot of J/30's spread out along the coast from Corpus to New Orleans. Thus the thought of having them meet in the middle at Galveston Bay for J/Fest. If any of you have any ideas on how to contact the owners and see if we can generate interest-let us know.

We can be flexible on the courses/racing depending upon the interest level. I can be contacted at Scott "at" JBoatsSouthwest "dot" com

Scott - if you post in the Gulf Coast Fleet forum, any people who have forum accounts from that district will be automatically notified. Unfortunately not everyone in the district has a forum account, but the district governor could help contact folks.
