Does anyone know this sailmaker ?

http://www.fareastsails.com/

It's from Hong Kong.
Someone at my marina said me that he bought sails from this sailmaker and he is happy with it : cheap and good quality.
But I am not sure... made in China... I wonder about quality and class design.

Here the sails they quote for me :

> 140 % Hank on Performance Genoa Retail USD$2090.00
> 6.4 oz Contender Supercruise (less your discount)
> 1 reef
> luff Tape for Tuff Luff
> 4 x Standard battens
> Leechline & footline with clamcleat
> Draft Stripe, Telltails, Triple Stitched
> Patches at head - tack - clew
> 4 foot x 3' viewing window
> Sailbag
> I=34.19' J=11.52' LP=16.128'
> Area 276 ft2 - cross cut
>

> 105 % Hank on Performance Genoa Retail USD$2012.00
> 7.4 US oz Contender Supercruise (less your discount)
> 1 reef
> 3 Batten Pockets (partial and supplied)
> 4 foot x 3' viewing window
> luff tape for Tuff Luff
> Patches at head / tack / clew
> Draft Stripe, Telltails, Triple Stitched
> Sailbag
> Leechline & footline with clamcleat
> Area 207 ft2 - cross cut
> I=34.19' J=11.52' LP=12.096'

If you wished to order these items, it would work as follows;

Retail Price of 140 2090.00
Retail Price of 105 2012.00
-------
Total Retail Price 4102.00
Wholesale Discount -1846.00
--------
Your NET DELIVERED price 2256.00

What do you think about that ?

Perfect sails for daysailing or cruising. We have several used sails that will fit the same bill.

Let me know what you need.

Yes, it's for cruising, a little bit more than daysailing. For exemple 2-3 weeks on St-Laurent river.

What do you have in this price range ?
I may be interested.
We want 105% and 140% with one reef.

"Chinese Sails" the reality is that in China Sails, they make a lot of the Dacron (polyester) for the sailing community overseas, most loft brands don't own or have quality control over the product. They use an assembly line and simply stick different Sailmaker's label on them as completed. The Quality of the cloth and the fine details that make a sail perform and last just aren't there. So you will get what you pay for. If you are looking for the least expensive sails try FX sails.
