I would like to be able to tune the shrouds myself. Can somebody help me out ? I have seen that people use the Loos tuning tool. What is the construction type and the diameter (1/9 wire and 1/4 inch diameter ?) of the J30 ? thanks beppe
Get one of these: Loos PT-2 for 1/4" for 1x19 wire. Depending on the style of turnbuckles you need a couple crescent wrenches and screw drivers. Then go to Info -> Articles of Interest -> J/30 Rig Tune above and get started. One helpful tip--after getting everything centered the calibrate shrouds to 38 = 1300 lbs on the Loos gauge and you will be able to make adjustments on the fly by counting turns.
