When I purchased CAN106, she came with a slightly bent boom. The elbow of the bend is at the vang's attach point.

My various engineering buddies have differing opinions about the risk of the bend - ranging from "don't worry about it" to "replace it now".

Has this happened to others?

why not have the boom sleeved in that area ?

It's a good time of year to do it. You'd not want to try to locate a new boom in the middle of the sailing season.
