J/30 Class Association Forums J/30 Forum The Boat, Sails and Equipment Icebox Replacement?

I've been having some trouble with my holding plate system I installed in the icebox, and while I should be able to fix it, I've begun to wonder how hard it would be to re-build the icebox (mainly to renew the insulation). Would such an endeavor be worth it?

What should I expect if I just took a sawzall to the icebox and started cutting out the interior?

a bunch of time lost sailing? most boats just add a cooler tied port of the table for long trips.
