I hope this finds you all well and still enjoying some remnants of good holidays. I wanted to give you a heads up to save the date for the 2016 Southern New England Open Regional Regatta. This year we will have a lot of company. Bill Kneller - now a J/109 guy, and Charlie Stoddard - now a J/105 guy, and I got together and decided to invite basically all J/Boat one design classes with 5 boats or more to race, as well as any J/Boats who cannot muster a class start to race PHRF. We are anticipating 3 race circles for two days of racing with dinner and a band in between. So mark your calendars now for August 13 and 14 at the Bristol YC for New England J/Fest 2016. The requisite website should be up and active within a month. Please return your comments back to me as to your interest to participate ASAP. For anyone who's organized anything like this, you know why it will be greatly appreciated.

Meanwhile, keep warm and safe. We want to see you on the water in 2016.

Registration is Open at This Link!

The 2016 J/30 Southern New England Championship is being held at the first New England J/Fest regatta for all J/Boats. Bristol Yacht Club on Narragansett Bay is the host with a skipper meeting on Friday 12 August and racing on Saturday & Sunday 13, 14 August 2016.

All J/Boats are invited. The racing format will have three race circles and a combination of courses including windward - leeward, and around government marks for some distance races. There will be both one design and J/PHRF classes. There will be J/22s available to charter for a one design fleet. J/Boat classes having at least 5 boats will be scored separately as a OD class. Read more about it in the Notice of Race.

We expect to have good racing, good food and good social stuff. The registration is open and the full website with information on logistics, social activities and additional sponsors will be up soon, but you can register on Yachtscoring now.

Register today, and pay no money until 15 July! J/22 registration is $100 and all other J/Boats are $125

Thanks to our major supporting sponsors North Sails and East Coast Yacht Sales, we plan on having a fun event with great sailing and social activities.

J/Fest planning is well under way. You can access the live website directly at http://jfestnewengland.com/ or through the J/30.org website. We have 33 boats registered so far, but only 5 J/30's !!!! While that is enough to give us our own start, we want more of you to sign up. There are already 6 J/105's and 7 J/109's registered. Remember, this is the J/30 Southern New England Regionals. Time for you to get on line and register. We need to know who is coming as early as possible in order to make sure we have enough of everything to keep everyone happy. Register now and pay nothing until July 15.
We've got 3 racing circles established, each with a US Sailing PRO, plus 5 US Sailing Certified Judges for the event. The caterer, tent, and band are all ready to go. All we need is you. Don't miss out on being part of this first time event at the Bristol Yacht Club on August 13 and 14.
