J/30 Class Association Forums J/30 Forum The Boat, Sails and Equipment Replacement Compass

My Plastismo 100s have had it, I have talked with a few folks who told me that even though I could refill my compass with new oil, the cost will approach a new one. The glass on my compass is starting to ting. Has anyone had the same problem? Did you just replace or did you repair? If you replaced, what model?

I replaced my plastimos with Nexus ( Silva ) 125 B/H. One I got from Defender and one was purchased at the Miami boat show ( $125! ). They come with a 5 year warranty and have a large easy to read card. No compensator is included. Without the compensator they can be mounted on the J/30's sloping bulkhead.
