Having an issue getting the exhaust elbow stern hose off to replace the elbow any suggestions so I don’t have to replace it?

I removed the hose from the muffler and warmed the hose up using a warm air gun to warm the hose and soften it keep the gun well away from the hose so you don't damage it.

Thanks Jim I will try that!!
Spent yesterday back tracing overheating issue to see if it was just the elbow (which has a crack) or if it was a hose or something else.
While my impeller looks fine - all the fins are in good shape, the internal bushing spins separately and no water is getting past it - so tomorrow (when the shops open because they are closed on the weekend on the island) I am going to replace it and hope that helps until I can get the exhaust hose off.
Love this community thank you all for your help as I start my journey as a J30 owner!

Meilissa - is your Yanmar fresh water cooled with a heat exchanger, or raw water cooled? If raw water cooled, you may have blocked cooling passages. See my Yanmar rebuild presentation done in 2007 here.
