I am looking for advice on deck paints and non-skid. I am told that Awlgrip is very good. I am also told that the pellet or sand -type additives for non-skid are tough on the knees, hold dirt, and don't last very long. Does anyone have any advice/tips/hints? I understand that Treadmaster is an excellent non-skid but is not very cosmetic. Anyone using Treadmaster?

my deck was painted with Brightsides and a fine sand like additive last spring. It is almost impossible to keep clean! I am seriously thinking of redoing it grey since it seems to be closer to grey than the intended off-white most of the time. Otherwise the Brigtsides paint is holding up well and I understand is easier to apply than Awlgrip.

Well, after some research, I've eliminated Treadmaster as an option. Awlgrip has two additives for non-skid, their Griptex pellets or SpatterIt. The pellets produce a sandpaper-like finish, the SpatterIt apparently produces a texture similar to spattered wall texturing. Has anyone used either product?
