J/30 Class Association Forums J/30 Forum The Boat, Sails and Equipment Hatch Boards

I am having some new Teak Hatch Boards made for my boat can anyone direct me to a site or possibly provide exact dimensions for these hatch boards including possibly what angle the companionway slot they slide into is at.

My boat is a 3 hour drive and having exact measurements via a drawing to give to the Caprenter would be best if possible.

I was going to replace my weather boards but couldn't find anyone to make them. So I am refurbishing them (even though they looked hopeless). Used teak cleaner and sanded like mad. Now on the fourth coat of varnish and cannot believe how good they look. But, I had to measure to make a temorary weatherboard. The bottom measurement is 24 inches. The sides are 25-1/2 inches and the top measurement is 27 inches. However, the top of the weather board is cambered and I do not have the camber measurement. Hope this helps you some.

I use a 1/2 inch piece of plywood for wintering and when I am away. When I am on the boat I pull out my nice varnished teak boards. When I am sailing the boards are placed in a sumbrella bag that has dividers of the same fabric . this keeps the boards from sliding about the cabin, keeps all of them in one place, and keeps them from getting scratched up. Does that make me a teak slave?
