For the first time ever, work was done ahead of schedule, and I'm splashing her this weekend. Launching in April, for me, just plain hasn't happened before.

Thor,

Splashed last Thursday and am sailing Rhaposdy from the yard in Fall River to Newport on Saturday. I'll be in the slip before 1 May - a new record. While still in Fall River, Neil Thurston is installing my new dodger. I'll get pictures this weekend and post them in the other thread that was started.

Question - in your pictures I see white things bolted on your stanchions about half way up. Are these for hanging bumpers or what??? Also - I saw you have your instruments mounted on wood backing plates. Looks like a nice way to transition to newer / different instruments that may have smaller mounting diameters for holes already punched out. Is that what you did?

Comments - 2 decimal places for boat speed! Let me know how well you can tune for that 1/100th of a kt...

I've seen pictures of you, and now nice pictures of your 1st mate. I hope your kids pick up their looks from their mother. :-)

white thingies are indeed for bumpers.... come in handy when you race phrf ( together with 105s )

I AM KIDDING .....lol
they actually work real nice , seems I am the boat everybody else is rafting up to, so i have plenty of big fat bumpers . :-)

wood.. yeah i originally wanted a carbon fibre sheet, but with our boats a wood thingy was more in place. Yes the holes underneath are way to big for the smallish nexus holes.

yeah 2.35 knots ...lol I really like the nexus stuff although the other instrument ( tacker to detect windshifts) has never really worked ...

yes my daughter is a beauty as well... :-)
cant complain ....

by the way, before you all go out an try like the dickens, we were smokin last saturday, but I am not sure if i have to re calibrate the speed thing .. 9.7 sounds excessive .... we got some comments from folks we have passed that they thought they were standing still.... but again I dunno for sure ... didnt had my GPS with me.

A few degrees further north and two weeks to go until launch for me.

In your 4th photo (j30b.jpg), what does the blue line coming through the bulkhead and jam cleat control?

blue line ..... lol
its the line which is attached to a little red flag all the way to the bilge where my hamsters are living .. if i pull it thanm the hamsters all go to their wheels and run like the dickens ... the wheels are connected to the drive shaft ....

yeah right

its a line with a ball at the end. works pretyy nice to hang other lines instead of them laying around all over the place ...

Hamsters on Stainless-steel wheels no doubt.

At first glance, it looked like a jam cleat but I see it now. Clever.

Very jealous that you're in the water...have a great season.
