I purchased the Annapolis Rigging kit last Fall, but have not installed it yet. The more I think about it, the more I worry about cutting two sizeable, sharp-cornered holes in the sides of my mast. I'm thinking of radiussing the corners of the bar and holes to at least reduce stress concentrations. Has anyone had a failure with the Annapolis setup? How long have you been using it?
I realize that rounding the corners on the bar may affect how the spreaders fit, but I think that can be dealt with, particularly since they recommend using two bolts per side.
