What type of cabon lights do you have? I have the what I call "eyeball" lights on my 1979 J-30. They swivel around - up down back and forth. Are these the type of lights you have?

West Marine has wide selection of bulbs. My lights take 12v halogen, type J base (two metal pins) in WM catalog, available in red and white. Don't know if this style is original or not.

My hull number is 405. My cabin light fixtures are burnished copper, swiveling, with a turn switch on their base. The bulb appears to be a double contact bayonet type that is a sealed beam. So its shape is conical and the lens has several small prisms to spread the light. There are no marks on the bulbs, but they are at least 15 watts according to my amp meter.

FYI: That sounds like the fixtures and bulb I have on Hull #21. I have seen similar bulbs at West, but I haven't had to buy any yet.

I am replaving all of my lamps. I have several functional, but 24 year old, bulbs if you're interested. schnitz@wueconc.wustl.edu
