I have a '82 vintage white painted mast that is showing a good deal of paint chipping. However, some of the paint appears to be adhered well / intact. Has anyone had success doing a touch-up paint job on their mast? I know that it is multi step/product process for those areas of exposed aluminum. Can I salvage the areas of the mast that are not chipping? Would the aluminum primer eat away at the white paint surrounding the chipped area being serviced? Any thoughts on this topic would be much appreciated. Thanks !

I had some issues with my boom last year and I used epoxy appliance paint. It worked good on the boom and after a full season there was no chipping or scratches and the finish came out nice. You just need to spray it even. I don't think I would want to do the whole mast but I am considering using it to touch up a few spots this year.
