Anyone have any suggestion on how to recycle old Kelvar sails. I don't want to throw them in the dump, where they will never break down.

Depending upon where you live, it might be convenient to take the sail to one of the companies that uses the sail to make various products (bags, wallets, belts, key chains, etc.). Off the top of my head the only one I can think of is ReSails in Newport, RI but they have at least one more location and there are a couple of other similar companies.

Last year there was a group of people at RCYC who collected old sails around the Toronto area and arranged to have them shipped to developing countries where they are used to make useful cloth items (bags, tarps, tents, etc.) I suspect that they do this annually.

If I see the posting about it again this year I'll be sure to forward it to you. You'd probably need to ship the sails here though.
